Young Persons Crisis Intervention

The young person’s intervention service provides the young person with an opportunity to stabilise the escalating behaviours and upsetting situations that may have occurred.

The respite enables the young person and families to have that space and time to work and communicate intensely with the professional bodies. We aid with any assessments and future planning that may be required. We offer a 24hr crisis service for up to 28 days respite for young people aged 8yrs -18yrs.

The respite provides a safe controlled environment with a high degree of supervision and structure in which the young person receives therapeutic intervention. The purpose is to stabilise the young person, within the period and get them back into a manageable routine and structure to prepare them to integrate back into their living environment and community from where they came from or into a new placement.

Crisis Intervention

Each young person is treated as an individual. Each care package is unique and bespoke to each individual. A 2-1 staff ratio that ensures quality time, Interaction and safety. We take each young person physical and learning needs and interest into account when putting their individual programme together.

What is a Crisis

There are many things that can be considered as a crisis in a young persons life.

  • Break down in communication
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Drugs/Alcohol misuse
  • Child sex exploitation.
  • Self harm

Sometimes circumstances can take us down the wrong path whether it be through wrong decision making or situations that cause us to be in that viscous circle that can lead to challenging behaviours, drug or alcohol misuse or many other life changing situations.

How can we help in a Crisis?

Our aim with our crisis team is to break that cycle through sports and leisure activities, with structure in a secure environment, breaking that barrier of communication to give every young person the chance to be all that they aspire to be.
